I have a Frances 26 with a Yanmar 1GM10 engine. I want to replce the 2 blade prop with a 3-blade. I think the engine is a bit small for the boat, but since it's recently been overhauled, I don't want to replace it. The diameter of the prop is 12 inches - can anyone advise on the maximum pitch for such a small engine? For those not familiar with the boat, a Frances is a long-keel 26 footer with displacement of around 3,500kgs. Thanks

I just re-propped my International Folkboat - went from a three blader to a feathering three blader. You might have the same trouble as we did - restricted space in the cut-out.
I can realy recommend Darglow - google them - helped us greatly. They'll ask all the correct questions and make a recommendation. The new prop they supplied has transformed the boat; faster under sail and engine now.

The original 2 bladed prop was a 12 x 11 RH.
'Maximum pitch'. Not sure about this. Depends on whether you want maximum speed on a flat calm day or some grip at low speeds.
