Hi, Can I ask a really basic question..
I have had my 23' steel sloop lifted out. There are water filled blisters in the antifouling, but not penetrating the epoxy coat underneath that. How do I prepare the bottom to re-antifoul? Can I do it by hand? Do I scrape off the blisters with a scraper of some sort.. then fill the pits left behind? with what? ... and then can I paint the new antifoul on top?
Sorry about the basic question, but I'm new to this...
Thank you! Mark.

No experience with steel but I would just scrape off the blistered bits (with care), however there should be a primer on the exposed epoxy before the anti foul or it wont stick.

suspect that the waxy coat on the epoxy was not removed properly prior to the application of primer.

hmmm.. maybe i should remove all the old stuff then, otherwise i suppose it may continue to blister underneath any new stuff i put on..
what's the best way to remove antifouling to the epoxy?

One way is to use removall on it.

If there are only a few blisters then treat them individually and see what happens next season. If there are a lot then you may be better to go back to epoxy.
