Deal or no Deal - Boats for Sale
      #1858366 - 14/05/2008 12:19

Apologies Forumites ... but if I may:

Norway has a population of ca. 4.5 million

At this moment in time on our national "Exchange & Mart" there are 11683 USED boats for sale, of which 413 were newly advertised today.

See links ... pretty easy to navigate as terms are understandable (Brukte bater)
- also it is a very good website and costs only £39 for 90 days of advertisement and unlimted pictures/- text.

http://www.finn.no/finn/boat/used/browse1

My reason for this posting:
1. Few boats are sold over here by a "broker" unless it was a trade in
... 99% are sold privately and without a survey (obviously we are an honest lot over here)

2. The "mark-up" on boats over here is ca. 40% to the UK price.

3. If you have a reasonably NEW boat, especially one that is NOT VAT paid I seriously suggest you contact one of the private brokers over here.
- they will agree a price with you in advance
- they will find a Norwegian buyer
- they will arrange everything, ie. collection from yourself after a cash purchase (as a buyer I pay up front) , export paperwork to get it out of the UK and import customs/- tax clearance/- payment at this end so the buyer receives it "on the water" with all necessary documentation.

You, the UK seller has no work whatsoever, you give the Norwegian broker (or his UK agent) the keys to your boat when you have the CASH (I repeat CASH) in your hand.

You have no liabilities whatsoever.

It is worth considering ... hecky thump ... for the sake of £39 you could advertise it yourself
- I did and sold my boat within 4 weeks and made £2000 on the price I paid 3 years earlier.

Worth thinking about maybe ... I can assist if you wish.

MVH
Martin

interesting site but all in Norwegian, however most seem self explainatory for example the spec for a Moody 30 is :-

Toppfart: 7 knop
Årsmodell: 1977
Bredde: 307 cm

Not sure if the speed is engine or wind generated but...

is freewind living up to his name?

I'd have thought you could have got a rather more impressive topfart out of a 1977 arse. must come from eating such big bread.

nothing-absolute nothing-half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.
