I have had a few problems getting my Nasa PC Navtex to work (previous post).
Nasa have sent me new software which is much easier to use and does enable some reception - but all I am getting currently is the Dutch and German coastguards - there is no coverage here and weather for the German Bight is not top of the priority list in the north of Scotland.
What do others get - I at least expected to get Portpatrick, Malin Head and some of the English stations. How much difference does antenae position make?
Is this reception typical of Navtex?
I was also intending getting an SSB receiver to get RTTY - would this be a good move?
