Very good coverage of the proposed selling off of lock keepers cottages and Carl had a nice go at the EA in his editors letter.
Nice to see an Inland special with some riverboat test etc..that will upset the salty types!
And look which forumites get quoted.. the Thames Birchwood massive aka No_Regrets and Flashheart. Careful boys, the EA know where you live!
Apollo & DWT are quoted too.
Just one omission though Carl, you didn't mention the Birchwood Owners Association forums. How about a quick mention next month? Pretty please.

Godammit...and I nearly rescued her too....
Still. I know somebody who would like the two Birchwood logo's rivetted onto each flank

Do you remember a post where you said "it's all being flushed down the Swannee by a bunch of incompetent cretins."?
Well, thats the one. In print (Page17) in all its glory!

Oh yes, if they happen to fall off I would be happy to give them a polish and a new home.
Moment of silence for the deceased Birchwood please.

It’s true, central Government lies behind the problem but just when the river desperately needs some good news, the EA’s decision to sell off the family silver is at best badly timed
Shame they had to talk bollocks to get to the point

I showed the piece on selling off the Lockies cottages to one of my colleagues. He lives in Benson and regularly walks his dog down by the lock. He did not believe what I told him of the proposals until he read it for himself, but will now seek out a copy of the petition to sign.
