I am involved with a friends boat,helping get her ready for the summer.The problem we have is with the prop shafts,they nead replacing .They are 75mm dia buy 3.5m and made out of steel [not stainless].As the boat is already in Belgium and will stay there for the next few years,should we upgrade to stainless?or stick with what was she origionly equided with? there is a big price diferential,£2000.00 more for staineless Like to hear your views {by the way the present shafts lasted 25 years}

25 years on standard steel shafts eh?
I think that answers your question quite adequately don't you?

Sounds like a much bigger boat than we usually chat about round here!
Also, you dont say what the price difference is relative to either cost - £2k against £4k is a lot different to £22K against £24K.
Dont feel qualified to comment, sorry.
