Help. We have had an e-mail from friends in France. I attach the text verbatim. Does anyone recognise what they are talking about and point us in the right direction for getting some answers for them?
Please, could you tell me JOHN , how much is a sort of clock /chronometer ? It s a clock / chrono yellow and black special for the start of race, the name is "Optimum Time" I think it's english. It s circular and may be 8 or 9 cm diameter . And a second thing , if you don t mind , there are two circles ,sort of CD they are stuck together and can show the wind and the dead lines, there seems to be english as well. Hope you are all well we just came from a very nice regatta of catamarans 1.04 Spitfire , Hobbie FX one. Eric
Many thanks in advance
John

Well I can answer the first part. The Optimum Time range of watches can be seen here; Clicky.
Now the stuck together CDs may take a little longer....

And they want the 3rd from the left in the top row.
Excellent start/race timer. Especially if your eyesight is not what it used to be.
Can't help with the other item.

Thank you very much both of you. I suspect that the CD thingy is one of those 'course made good/tacking angle calculators that you sometimes see in chandlers. The trouble is I never take any notice of them.

What about one of these;
Does all of that and worn the wrist.

A good second hand one would be about £1500.
