The best place to make contact is the ARC website's crew forum - we found 3 crew from there.

Having said that, be aware that the search for free berths is extremely competitive with dozens of hopefuls patrolling the pontoons in Las Palmas. Paid berths (around 2k per head) are easier to find. You may have more luck if you offer help crewing down to the Canaries. You'll have more chance getting a berth among the non-ARC boats.

As Snowleopard said... This is the best place to start. After that your best bet is to turn up on the quay at Las Palmas about 3 weeks before the start (end of November)

agree with others, put cv's on sites like er here, the arc site, 7knots.com, crewseekers.

BUT...i do a few crossings and wd be super-wary of taking father and son as crew. In fact, I am actually looking for crew and won't take you. Sorry. Cos, see, how do i know how you'll get on? And if things get a bit pressury - what if you and dad "decide" that such and such is the best idea? No thanks.

appreciate your honesty tcm, but for anyone else reading we are NOT looking for free berths and understand 2k per berth is the norm, weve sailed together for all my 35 yrs and i cant remember falling out at sea either between us or with other crew/skippers,im shopfitter v.practical in a mending situation, derek is v. good with diesels and good cook at sea.
