I've just parted company with a little over £100 for this 2nd hand plastic-fantastic kayak and paddled it all of 100 yards from the ex-owner's boat too mine (yes, I have a wet arse). Like so many of the other have-to-have toys some of us less sensible types have on board, I have to wonder if that will be the last time I use it, despite my good intentions of doing a little daily exercise?
Casting a quick eyeball about, I am a little dismayed at the quantity of beer-tokens that I've invested in things other than beer. Have I triggered any guilt complexes in you?

Nope, no guilt. Can't take it with you when you're gone. And yep - you probably will use it again, they are great fun, especially after a few beers! You'd be amazed at the entertainment that can be made with one of these!
You only have to ask one question - are you glad you bought it and were you happy when you did buy it? If the answer is yes then you did the right thing however little or otherwise you may use it.
Have fun - happy capsizing (the kayak not the yacht obv)

Stingo, if you fit some toe loops in it, then they are amazing fun in a bit of surf... you'll get rolled, bashed, walloped and bumped, but you'll have a right good old time!

They're like the footstraps used on windsurfers..... just cheap ones.... any windsurfing shop should have them.... to fit them you need a special insert that fits into the plastic... its like a special rawlplug fitting.... drill the hole, hammer it in, and it has a thread in it to screw the toe strap in.... i'll have a google and see if I can find one and post a link so you know what to look for....

a foot/toe strap
a stick on mount
a proper mount
Any half decent surfing shop should stock all of these.... mount them where your feet go, and you'll be able to stay on in the surf just by sticking your toes through them.....

Did you see the osmosis on the little foredeck?

Thank you. Will try track it down in SA. May have to get ScillyPete to bring them out from the UK.

Waddaya expect for a hundred squid?
The biggest worry is that it's above the waterline, which doesn't bode well for staying upright.
