I noticed on a neighbouring yacht that the holes in the genoa car tracks are numbered. It seems a good simple idea. However, where can I buy waterproof adhesive numbers?

Racers tend to use waterproof felt tip pen. You might be able to use numbers printed on a Dymo or Brother label printer on the track

use duct tape alongside the track and write on that with a waterproof marker pen. when you mess up, peel it off and start again.

Can't remember which, but either North or Hood Sails had them when I bought my sails many moons ago.
I've also seen the strips of numbers in the odd chandler, though ludicrously expensive. We tried the Dymo type idea but the adhesive does hold more than a few weeks at best.

I think Hyde Sails used to sell some marked up tape back in the day, not sure if this is still the case. Otherwise, a waterproof marker pen.

I've not tried it on a boat but I'm sure you could go to your local shop graphics printers and get some self adhesive vinyl numbers cut very reasonably. Peel 'em off, stick 'em on. Job done. You'd get loads of spares too... In fact, get loads done and sell them to your chums down the club. I'm sure you could break even...

Brother label printers using waterproof TZ tape- apparently work very well.
I have just acquired one, but not yet stuck a label on an outside part of the boat. High quality print, in various colour combinations (inc. white on black- great for relabelling control panels etc; and black on fluorescent for those safety things.
My (marine) electrician says they are fine for outside use. I note they sell a garden version- so presumably OK

I'll second this.
I labelled all the jammers on the cabin top (white on black) and other bits and pieces outside (black on white) about 5 years ago and they are still going strong - they haven't faded or peeled. (Now they will all start falling off, so I'd better pack the labelling machine as an essential piece of equipment for our year away )
The tape didn't specifically say it was waterproof.
