As an experienced operator of radio communications systems, I was a little surprised when David informed me that he had enrolled both of us on a VHF DSC training course being run by AT Sailing www.atsailing.co.uk which we completed today. But having completed the course and gained my operators certificate, I have to say that the entire course was well worth doing. I learned a great deal and am entirely satisfied with the entire course, and the way it was run. Top marks to AT Sailing and both Al & Tina for making the day so enjoyable. Sorry if this seems like a shameless plug, but from what I hear, enough people like to complain so a satisfied customer makes a change. One question though, is why don't more partners/spouses do the course ?. I am now confident that should anything happen and I have to make a mayday or panpan call, I would be confident enough to make that call without having to wait for David to do it. It could well be him that needs urgent help, so at least I would be able to call for that help using the best means possible.
Thank you Al & Tina, an excellent day curtesy of www.atsailing.com and thanks also to CliveG for organising it

Amazing - how many times do you have to press the red button and for how long?
Do you press the GPS MOB button first or use the radio first
