Well we all know its true, despite Daka berating us about how sailors dont know their colregs from their arse, , Its always nice to see your secret convictions proven correct....
Monday PM, Plymouth sound, "Team Williams" clearly felt that a little high speed testing was in order....... But what have we here?
Well, I guess they thought that the regs didnt apply.... either that or they couldnt see....
RFA Gold Rover......
Which was just coming round the corner at the Mallard shoal at the bottom of the Catterwatter when Team Williams decided they would ignore the 2 MOD police Ribs, the MOD police Neslon and the 2 MOD tugs which were accompanying her, and cut through the security cordon and under the bows of the RFA ship, at a speed that was probably approaching 50 knots....
Here they are after being waved down and threatened with Automatic weapons....
And here they are again with Gold Rover disappearing behind them....
I have to say from my position, they were very lucky the MOD didnt start shooting at them, certainly the Yanks would have, or if they had tried the same thing with the SSN that had come in earlier.......
Maybe they thought that as they are a Racing Boat, they have the right of way????
