I’ve never seen it but I’m told that the smack is the ‘Alanna’, built by John Howard around 1906 and which was converted to a yacht after three years...
There used to be an infestation of gribble in the inner harbour. That was long ago, and perhaps the little blighters have eaten all the wooden boats...
