Hi John, it was yes. Sorted the steering, the cable had jumped off the drum, all back on now, if a tad on the tight side. I was offering 3k, settled for just under 5k in the end.
How much was he asking last year? I think she will be a good boat, I actually only think she was worth 3 in that state, but my partner wanted a big boat with a wheel, and I was on the point of buying a samphire 23, in beautiful nick and ready to lift in and sail away. She said she wanted the big one and would pay half, so now I find myself working on a boat instead of sailing the bugger
Still, it will be a great boat I think with not a massive amount of work and cash spent. The headlining will cost, but once the inside has a makeover, she will probably be worth considerably more than we paid and spent. Will be highly unusual to have a boat that's an asset rather than a liability
I know Cumbrae well from years of family holidays may well be there later this month with her as I take her back to Maryport. Whats your boat called and we'll look out for you.
Hi Steve, just been reading your post about your Longbow. Sounds like Pot and Kettle I looked at last year but did not take it any further as owner at that time was not going to move on price. Hope you have got the steering sorted?
Perhaps we may see you at Cumbae sometime as we quite often go there from Largs in our wee motor sailer.
PS I used to have a Westerly Pentland ketch which was a great boat, sold it almost 20 years ago and still miss it.
