Excellent, I remember the feeling the first big chunk of cash was paid out for a towed generator (well worth it though) you feel like you're on your way.

I wouldn't worry so much about leaving late if that happens, there are loads of people doing the same, it just means shorter hops and more time in port checking weather charts. You also only really get to sort the boat out properly once you're on your way.

I bought my boat on 7th October in Lymington, then fitted out for long distance and coded her in Plymouth, departed Plymouth 18th October, but was then waiting in Falmouth for good weather until 4th November before heading to Spain. Just be prepared to turn back if you don't like it, we had one false start from Falmouth and another from Coruna.
