I agree, fix a date, and go.

Number of times people have commented how much work I have to do on a boat and I always agree, knowing full well that I am off on the next tide or next day. Would love to see their faces whenever they came back and the boat was long gone.

On one occassion I was fitting a new forehatch in the late evening and from the quay the boat looked as if it was undergoing a total rebuild but next day everything was stowed, crew arrived and we were off to Norway.
