I have found that Meteo France navtex is extremely poor at forecasting Tramontanas and Mistrals. The Spanish navtex seems to be much better if you can receive it, however once past capo Creus that could be difficult.

The last one I received, Spain forecast it 24 hrs ahead and France showed it to be from the NE well after it started. They did publish a correction to NW about 3hrs later.

I think France is so used to strong North westerlies that it will only forecast them if they expect F9 or over.
