Re: Weatherfax reception

Looking at your positions I guess you didn't get to Horta? Neither did I, got to Sta Maria and then Ponta Delgada, then back to Leixoes and on to Camaret. Was a crazy 5 weeks, I'm knackered - did you get that N 7/8?

Anyway, WFax reception for me was iffy on these legs. Occasionally Marshfield (Boston), sometimes Offenbach. Northwood I found poor, I think their power is really low, relatively (was OK in Biscay but then I had Radio 4 anyway). Ended up relying on the DWD rtty forcasts which receive easily and give a good synopsis. On 10101 Mhz at about 2200 UTC (there are 3 sets broadcast spanning Murmansk to Canaries AFAIR), but not midatlantic - still synopsis is useful. Also Radio France spoken broadcast AM on 15365 Mhz at 1140 UTC - in French but again a good synopsis and all the N Atlantic. I need to record it though as I can't translate quickly enough!
