Celtic Challenge Rowing Race

This weekend (May 3/4, 2008) will see the bi-annual Celtic Challenge Rowing Race between Arklow, Co. Wicklow, Ireland and Aberystwyth - 80 nm and 16 hours of hard graft. There are over a dozen teams competing from all over Ireland, Wales and as far away as London, and most will have a lead boat and a support boat accompanying them.

So if you're going up the Irish sea and are wondering about the large flotilla passing by, you know why! And if you happen to be in Aberystwyth on Sunday, drop by the sailing club for the celebrations, as the rowers just keep on going.
