I forgot that; he had a very (30's?) socialist theme running through most of his books.
Schooner Integrity is a good read, the rescue of a boat in the W Indies, Dear Dolphin about the trip to Cuba (lead me to getting dinghy out at Heybridge to photograph the Dolphin a couple of years ago), Rescue & Recovery another good read about the near wrecking of Iskra.

Always liked the fact the trip ended, if not with a sinking, in Bradwell Creek.
