Just thought I would share this discovery with you lot. Over that last few years I have been using some gun mastic on the boat for anything that needs to be bedded but removal in the future.

The stuff is called 'Soveriegn Builders Mastic', obviously made by Sovereign chemicals and available in many builders merchants. Its a bit like very soft putty. It will skin over where exposed to the air but stay compleyely soft between mating surfaces.

Its brilliant for bedding things down, or glazing with beading etc and based on experience so far I can highly recommend it. It costs about Ł2.00 per large size tube.
