I experimented with a windows window manager years ago on NT4. I was moving from Unix to windows at the time and missed the multiple desktops that are a feature of X window managers.

The problem I found was that many windows apps at the time would refuse to disappear when they were busy - which is just the situation when you want to switch desktops. This isn't a problem with X 'cos the window frame and visibility is controlled by the manager. But in windows it is the applications threading that controls the frame. Unfortunately many business apps use APIs that are fairly poor in this respect. Have you found this an issue? Also how does it handle windows modal message? Do they pop up in the correct desktop?
