Im confused about polishing up my hull. some say take sand paper very fine lots water then cutting compound then wax. My hull is a large blue band over white under the strake. Is this blue part a graphic label or a paint job or blue pigment in the grp. I also have pinstripes along it like a car. I take it these would have to come off if I sand. Ive tried boat cutting polich and wax but its still a milkyblue mostly where the fenders have rubbed. it a 96 bayiner 175 but looks a lot older. or is a respray at my local paint shop the answer. I dont want to take sandpaper to it to find only a big white patch. or even better to boatyards do this sort of thing for you and anyone any idea on the cost. taking up to loch lomond in a few weeks to berth her for the summer woukd like to get her loking her best as ive just spent around sixty hours replacing almost every bit of wood in her. (yes nearly every single bit, floor side pockets seat boxes seats side walls transom surround etc etc. got photos if anyone else is about to tackle it. |
