Chartering from Port Bodrum Marina, Yalikavak

Apologies for the cross posting but I was told I might get more answers in here rather than in SB.

Does anyone have any advice about places to visit on a one week charter from Port Bodrum Marina?

We are chartering a Broadblue 385 for one week. I have got the East Aegean pilot book. We do not want to visit the Greek islands due to visa requirements.

Thanks in anticipation.

On further investigation my initial feeling is to head up and East towards Torba as the East Aegean pilot doesn't show anything between Yalikavak and Gumusluk.

Thanks

Bodrum to Cokertme, choice of restaurant jetties to tie up to, across to Amazon Creek - pleasant mile hike to campsite for evening meal (don't forget to take a torch for the return), English Harbour, Kormen, Knidos and back to Bodrum.

Sorted!

I did a similar route some years ago on a charter out of Bodrum and I did much the same in reverse order last year, onboard my present boat.

Hope you have a great time wherever you decide to go.

Hi, we are actually chartering from Port Bodrum Marina which is in Yalilkavak across the otherside of the peninsula.

Thanks for the reply though.

Morning!

Yes, realised that, but makes no difference, still an easy day sail to either Cokertme or Knidos depending on which way you want to go round.

All the best.

I agree with Ian. The Gokova Bay is perfect for a week's sail. Don't forget to go to Amazon Creek. Anchor there and go for a wander up the hill to take in breathtaking views of the surrounding peninsula, and then wander into the woods to the camp site for drinks/evening meal.

If you wish to stay near Yalikavak then you could waste a week at anchor in Gumusluk. Walks up the hills and to Limon Cafe are worth it for the sunsets. You could continue further north and aim for Kizikli Limani. Last time I was there it was completely unspoilt.

For more info on these places take a look at our log on Follow The Boat Summer 2005. This link will take you to the 900 miles I did in 2005 all around the Bodrum peninsular. Alternatively use the drop-down menu to jump your way around these places. Lots of pics to get you excited!

EEyore,
Thanks, I think I need to revise my views on how far we are going to get in this week. Must study the pilot book in more detail

Same boat, same trip last year. Word of advice, don't bother going north for a short trip. See ST Feb 08. Recommend Gumusluk, The Aquarium (after the day tripper boats go at around 1700), Cokertme.

Many thanks, will try to track down a copy of ST.

Only 3 weeks to go and the charts have arrived. The planning is as much a part of the holiday for me despite the fact that the plans go out the window approx 30 mins after arriving on the boat!
