I'm back now after a rent house and cruise with partner scenario....only advice is go and...a good secretary in the UK is very useful, my father was great as he had plenty of time (he's retired) to answer post, forward stuff and generally keep an eye on things. You will want to completely switch off from UK for periods and its nice if you can. |

You have a window of opportunity before your son starts school. However one crew members job will be child supervision and all round netting and permanent bouyancy aid on deck/in dinghy are essential. However my 1yr old really objected to a trailing harness. It's perfectly feasible to cruise with a young child, you just have to be careful. |

Go now - we went when the kids went to Uni have since come back to top-up the kitty and are about to go off again.Go and If you don't like it then come back. But if you never try you won't find out. BTW - more crusing plans are wrecked because of domestic issues than sailing - you need to get the balance right. We never regretted anything only comming back which we will remedy soon.......

We have a 22 month old son. Since he started walking it has been fcecking hard work - so much so that we brought our 'wintering' period forward by two months. Do not let the kid stop you doing this. Just be aware that, without the usual support network (family, friends, car etc) it can be a little testing. |

Take a look at Pete Emmons website, he left for the Med with his wife and two year old at the begining of last year. www.sailingbambola.com |

Give it a lash! There's always another job and house to be found if you want one. But why bother with a bigger boat - if your comfortable with what you've got, just use that! |
