Come to poole.. Leave with headache!

okey dokey..

choose from the following dates...

sat 6th dec... sat 13th dec... sat 20th dec?

reply with preferred date only...ie "6th" in the subject line with no message.. and we'll go from there.

i'll check with PHC for berths but i forsee no problems as there's usually loads of room, i may also be able to arrange overnight parking if you're going to kip on someones boat.

Re:6th, 13th and 20th suits me - 27th too!

How about a practice on the 6th if the weather looks good anyway (for Forbie's walllets sake!) and then take it from there.
Got to include the 20th for Hoo/Hoo2.
Really pleased that Barry has decided to stay overnight on his boat rather than head back at 0200 as last year - have you fitted heating Barry?????????

Re: make your mind up!

as long as this guy all can make it, as well as Col, then the 20th looks great and I will start the logistical exercise of getting it in the family diary prior to that actual date.
Assume we will use Dolphin Haven as a base and plan an itererary around the actual weather on the day as per last year - with hopefully a flat calm crisp day that has us in Swanage or the Banks early on and back to the Quay for the evening. Note Barry prefers this trip to be made in the dark!

Uhm......................

If 20th ain't good for everyone, revert to 6th. I know that means George won't make it, a real bugger, but you can't please all. The 20th is a bit near Christmas with trees to buy and decorate that weekend etc. etc. Can't remember where that leaves Forbsie, except 125 quid involved somewhere.

And come on....it's got to take at least 200 posts before we finalise a date!

Huddy blell, just read the other thread. Seems 20th it is, then, shame about Barry, looks like Jake may make up for the loss. As long as Col can make it with the mulled. Perhaps we should each bring a fermos to the party (reminds me of the David Beckham joke, you've all heard that one, David Beckham and the fermos, havn't you?).

Re: Come to poole.. Leave with headache!

there's plenty of hotels etc all around the quay area. nearest is the quay thistle hotel, i'm not sure what else is along the quay, and there's a holiday inn express within walking distance (i'll probably use that one, as it's cheap and i'm a tight wad)

i'll have a look about when i'm down there next week and see if i can't do a deal of some decription.

see ya there. steve.

Have a bow tie do in St. James's on the 19th but could have made it to Poole the next day. However, it now looks like the 20th is inconvenient for most, so guys just go ahead and we will give it a miss this time. At least it made us get off our butts and do our Xmas shopping this past weekend......

change of date.. 6th december. venue Poole.

with regards to a few changes, the date that best suits the majority is the 6th december.

Itinery remains the same (i.e. there ain't one, just a few ideas... al dependent on the weather)

got a good idea who will make it, and nearer the time we'll have a count up to book some berths at Dolphin Haven.

I hope this doesn't cause anyone any additional problems, and look forward to meeting you all again.

CREW WANTED. Would like to join you but partner has a course that day. Don't fancy singlehanded sailing so subject to finding crew would leave Saturday (at time to suit tide) from Hamble return Sunday. Boat is AWB 38foot charter coded with all safety gear takes 8 if you are talking to your partner 4 if not! I am yachtmaster. If anyone would like to join me it would be my pleasure. Any level of experience welcome - I have often gone out with completely inexperienced crews. Anyone out there interested?
