Re: Weymouth at Easter

Per my other post, provisionally we are up for it, although the tides are not straigtforward. We will probably stay in Lymington on Thursday night, and aim to get out through the Needles by 0700 Friday.

All dependant on weather of course.

Lady in Red will be there all things being equal.
The HM's office take block bookings which might be an idea, as I would expect a mass crane in of local boats that w/e.

Re: Weymouth at Easter

One way or another I have chances of making it - it's only an hour from the caravan by car...........
if the weather is really really nice, and I have managed to finish the 'big jobs' in the garden, I will probably have a thirst on that weekend.

Re: Weymouth at Easter

A35 to Dorchester then A354 to Weymouth - about 24 miles
or B3157 (coast road) straight to Weymouth - about 20 miles

can't comment on the guiness

Re: Weymouth at Easter

Once they get you started on Rum cocktails, you really won't care about drinkability of the Guiness or otherwise. Bring spare clothes, you are likely to fall overboard at least once!

Re: Weymouth at Easter

You had better start winding up the elastic band now, Brendan.

Also, I am assuming you will not be working whilst you are with us, per your stated occupation!

Re: Weymouth at Easter

we normally arrange a steel band to go with the rum - are you suggesting a rubber one would be better?

I'm always ready to get to work if a lady requires my assistance, even on a pro bono basis

I've cheated a little, and installed a large petrol engine to wind the rubber band, as I found winding it every few feet a little tiring

Re: Weymouth at Easter

Jimi

Looking through this thread it seems that we currently have 8 boats, namely

Glen Rosa
Sheerwater of Dee
Ruff n Tumble
Moondance
Lady in Red
Brendan's bath tub
Passing Trade
Two J's.

Hopefully some more will agree to come along as we get closer to the time.

Do we need to be booking spaces for ourselves, or am I trying to plan too far ahead?
I'm average size, Its just that everybody else is short.

Re: Weymouth at Easter

Paddy's asked me to tell you that he can't make it. He and Kate have vitualled the little corribee and sailed off into the sunset to start another life. All the offers, indecent and otherwise, that kate was getting was putting pressure on the marriage

As you know Jimi, "Talulah" is IN and at the moment we will be 6 on board, one of whom is a devout veggie if you are thinking about arranging somewhere to eat. In respect of any other plans we are a "go with the flow" type of boat.
See ya there

Re: Weymouth at Easter

Yup .. Kim is going to arrange a separate forum for it so we can discuss things like food & food. Sort of thought that a Sat evening spread would be good However will wait until the forum has been set up before getting into the nitty gritty .. our passage plan (subject to weather) is to make Yarmouth Thursday evening, and then leave early Friday afternoon for Weymouth, have Sat & Sunday there and return monday. There is a bowling place there so those interested could have a fling .. i like the lanes with rails!!!

Re: Weymouth Concession

VISITING YACHT CLUBS AND CONCESSIONARY BERTHING RATES

Yacht clubs wishing to visit Weymouth Harbour are offered a discount on berthing fees. This concession is dependent upon the number of craft wishing to berth and make use of the Harbour facilities.
All vessels must hold appropriate third party insurance cover whilst visiting the Port of Weymouth and a minimum cover value of £2,000,000 is requested.
