Admiral wignal's Summer Crusie

As the days start to draw closer, and D day fast approaches, I fear we need to start making haste, and planning provisioning raids, and planing meetings down pub to discuss the manovers of where when, tidal streams and alike?

Beaches with sand, beeches with pubs and beeches with restrictions,

So ye old wise one? what date shoudl this meeting take place and where? my proposal for what it is worth should be ove the next few weekends, at a mutual convienent place like cowes or the folly, hamble or soem other place to decide plan and execute

A

Re: Admiral wignal's Summer Crusie

I second the motion

Admiral Wignal seems awfully quiet on this one.....

BTW it looks like we may have to skip week two due to some minor point (work :-()

17/18th is good for us too. Dont mind where, but on the mainland is a good idea - esp with the recent weather!

Re: Admiral wignal's Summer Crusie

We'd love to join the cruise (Me, Mandy, Danny 16, Emma 14), but we'd have to miss part of the first week as Emma is at Guide camp. We'd plan to catch the 'fleet' up, and then in our second week go a bit further perhaps.

Can't make a planning session this weekend - or anytime between the 14th - 31st (in SF for work, taking the tribe with me). Happy to go along with the consensus :)

OK, you asked for it...

Sat 31st
General meet-up, as and when. Some folks have issues with tides etc, so aim to meet and overnight in Yarmouth.

Sun 1st
General day of messing about at Studland, waiting for folks to catch up (you know who you are). Overnight Poole Town Quay/Dolphin/Studland (latter option only for real boaters, wusses to tie up to something solid).

Mon 2nd
Round the corner to Chapman's Pool for the morning, lunch in Lulworth Cove, arrive Weymouth late afternoon. Overnight Weymouth Marina or Town Quay (more fun, IMHO).

Tue 3rd
Weymouth. Overnight as before.

Wed 4th
Lazy start, leave Weymouth mid afternoon for Tor Bay. Arrive Brixham/Torquay late afternoon for overnight stop.

Thu 5th
Day trip to Dartmouth, overnight Torquay/Brixham.

Fri 6th
Day trip to Salcombe, overnight Torquay/Brixham.

Sat 7th
Leave Tor Bay for Plymouth, arrive late afternoon for overnight stop.

Sun 8th
Hagrid's Birthday. Excessive alcohol, followed by trip to the more dubious end of town in search of a lady of negotiable virtue to entertain Hagrid. Second night in Plymouth.

Mon 9th
Overnight Plymouth.

Tue 10th
Leave Plymouth, arrive Falmouth late afternoon for overnight stop.

Wed 11th
Overnight Falmouth.

Thu 12th
Time to start heading back. Poss run back to Brixham/Torquay (whichever we didn't do on th eway down, perhaps?).

Fri 13th
Auspicious day to cross Lyme Bay back to Weymouth...

Sat 14th
Weymouth back to Studland, for an overnight stop on the hook, or somewhere in Poole.

Sun 15th
Return to home ports.

That's it. Major stop offs are Weymouth (2 nights), Brixham (3 nights), Plymouth (3 nights) and Falmouth (2 nights), which doesn't seem too rushed, and gives time to do a bit of exploring, as well as letting folks go off and do their own thing. Open to suggestions from the local yokels about places to go/things to do once west of Salcombe.

So that is why you dashed off home to Christchurch for the night last time we were in Studland .

funny how it crops up as first and last night option ! First night - no chance; last night.......well if you are still running to the same passage plan you never know!

We will be bobbing around Poole from Friday and will listen out for you guys on 16. Have a really great time and I hope the breaking weather works out for you - looks like it might just do that.
