Sarfend Air Show

Who's gonna be there then?
We hope to be there at about 11.00am on Monday. If anyone else is about how about nominating a radio channel.
No throwing things at us (unless its money or drink for Cheryl).

Yes--subject to weather on Monday, i.e. not p*****g down with rain etc. I'll be on one of those white plastic things with a big metal pole coming out of the middle and material attached to it. Tides suit quite well for coming down from Chatham so we are aiming to be there around lunchtime. Name a VHF channel.

This is for when the engine breaks down is it?
Seriously, love yachts, I grew up sailing from the BP Yacht Club (when the refinery was there) and would still jump at the chance, we'll probably buy a sailing dinghy soon just to get back into it.
We're coming down from Chelsea and then going on to Cuxton.
Give you a call on 72?

Re: Sarfend Air Show

Usual Medway/Thames Estuary weather. Wind right on the nose on the way down from Chatham so we decided to motor to the Ray, at least we had the tide with us. Anchored around one o'clock just in time to see the dark clouds gathering, no wonder they had to delay part of the flying program. Then carried out a thorough test on our waterproof clothing to find out that it is totally impervious the heaviest of rain. Weather cleared, Tornado F3 was spectacularly noisy, Breitling team impressive but the star of the show was undoubtedly the Red Arrows. Decided to leave at 4:30 as the clouds gathered again. No wind worth speaking of so we motored back and carried out another test of the waterproofs. Weather excepted a great day out spoilt only by the irresponsible attitude of some who thought it clever to charge through the closely packed boats anchored in the Ray at dangeroussly high speeds and as usual not a lifjacket between them. I saw the Police stop at least five offenders but would guess all they got was a talking to.

Re: Sarfend Air Show

Sorry we missed you, we ran away at about 12.30 I think. We were anchored out of the way in the small ships anchorage.
The Red Arrows flew right over us when we got back, brilliant formation and very, very low for being in transit!
Are you going to the Regatta weekend at Ramsgit?
