I propose a Scuttlebutt BBQ in Dartmouth on the Saturday Evening of the Regatta. 27th August 2005. The Venue will be the KQ Pontoon on the Kingswear side on the Harbour. This is a 12 ft. wide concrete topped pontoon belonging to the Dartmouth Harbour Authority. This is the 2nd pontoon in from the centre of the river, just up-stream of The Darthaven Marina We have 3 yachts moored on the pontoon. Unfortunately there will not be any moorings available on the pontoon so you would have to make other arrangements. Dinghies will be able to moor on our yacht. Anchoring is possible in the river but someone has to be on board at the turn of the tide. HW 12:10 4.0m LW 18:05 1.9m HW 00:32 3.8m Dartmouth gets VERY crowded for the Saturday of the Regatta with boats from all the local area coming to watch the Flying displays in the afternoon and the Fireworks Display in the evening. This will be a “bring your own” BBQ etc. event. If you are interested please indicate by replying to this thread. I am sure that any stinkpots would also be most welcome. Clive G |

Just keep the noise down as you are right below my house! If I spot you I will give a blast on my Nato approved klaxon. Let's hope the weather improves by then. |

By the response so far I don't think you will hear us over the noise of the air display and the fireworks. Mind you life could be interesting on the river on the Saturday. I see from the regatta website that there is a cruise ship coming in a.m., to join the 2 gray funnel line ships, and leaving at 9.00p.m. just as the fireworks start. Regatta web page |
