Bristol Channel Quiz (22)

Graham is too embarrassed to set another question, after his last one So he asked me to do it!

Where is a harbour building which has "four grand fire places and clocks on its roof, to represent the four seasons, 52 rooms for every week of the year and a grand 365 windows."

Re: Bristol Channel Quiz (22)

Yes - the original Barry Dock building. A rare example of a "Calendar Building" apparently

Sorry Mr B just got back on line after an absence on the boat sanding/polishing/varnishing/filtering etc etc. I will catch up later.

P.S. Just winning is enough after so many attempts!

Sorry for the delay - here is the question

"Where in the Bristol Channel can you get a 30 ft boat lifted out, 6 months secure storage, free electricity and water, free access and use of a workshop, and then lifted back in, all for less than £500?"

Re: Bristol Channel Quiz (22)

I see lots of BYC moorings are back in.Going afloat soon Don?
Was very tempted to go for a sail yesterday afternoon sun out nice breeze etc but was strict with myself and rewired the nav lights instead .

The new shed/workshop in Barry must be usefull when your ashore.

Re: Bristol Channel Quiz (22)

Possibly - the Portishead Cruising Club have a ridiculously cheap deal enshrined by law. At the moment it is 2 weeks in the marina for decommission/commission, a lift and launch, and 6 months in the Parish Wharf compound for.......about £80 (IIRC). They have to pay for leccy though.

Not that I am complaining, because I qualify for the same deal if I want because I live in the parish

Re: Bristol Channel Quiz (22)

I'll post one then....

What happens if you are fitting your rudder at 11pm, and trying to get the bolts for the rudder shoe to line up with the hole in the hull, and you are using black sikaflex?

PS Snow Petrel is back in the water at last I had a small window of opportunity to get access with the hoist, so after a late night after work and early morning fitting the rudder, prop and seacocks, I launched at 7am. Yippee
