More advice please.....

Hi all, whats the general view on best anchor/chain/rope combo for my little 24 footer? Shes currently got the standard fairline fitted plough anchor & approx 20m of chain only. Im guessing around 60m in total with maybe 40m of that in rope to keep the weight down.

Thanks in advance

Brian

What you have sounds okIf you have another strong line aboard it could have a dual purpose as a towing rope and extra anchor warp if you need it.

Generally your chain and warp should total about 5 times the depth of water that your anchored in

I use a 6 kg Delta on my Carrera in the Wash and Humber
holds very well and self stowing

Might be worth checking the anchor size against standard tables as manufacturers have a habit of fitting what looks nice rather than of adequate size. Also depends on whether you intend anchoring overnight or just for lunch!

Thanks all, Jkay- I have a 6kg too- think I will just do as others have suggested & use extra line to add length.
