Can I have some more sunshine please?

Last Monday morning:

Thursday evening:

Now I just need two more painting days, and she can go back in. She's been out of the water 10 days now, which is already longer than I wanted. Please give me sunshine so we can finish the last couple of coats and get her back in the water this week.

Unfortunately, it's currently soaking down here!

An attractive boat. By the way, the link to your website [in your profile] doesn't work; for me anyway.

Re: Can I have some more sunshine please?

Why thank you sir. We bought her last summer after she had been waiting for a new owner for 3 years. We then made the choice to sail as much as possible, and to tidy her up this year. Just need 2 more coats on the topsides, another antifoul and the boot top, and then she can go back in.

And thanks for the heads up on the website, I need to renew the domain name this week!

Lovely boat Jesse! We have the sunshine, wall-to-wall, every day, around 25 deg, but I'm having some trouble packing it to send to you. The Met people have promised us some rain for later in the week, but we've heard that before and were disappointed.
Peter.

Right. I've managed to save and export a sunshine file but I'm having trouble downloading and opening it on my laptop in the UK. Any ideas?

I would ask you where is it, but it'll be too easy for you.

Re: Can I have some more sunshine please?

If its any consolation I decided to invest in some shed time for my Hilly after two repaints in the open, dodging the showers and freezing the nuts off...
I had her lifted into the shed just before Christmas with the notion I could use the holidays to work on her and get refloated within a month.
Wrong.
I got the topsides sanded down, deck painted and saloon coaming joinery work done (bare mahogany over three quarters of the saloon) for a gale to lift part of the shed roof which promptly fell 60 feet onto the boat puncturing the deck canvas in half a dozen places. The boat was exposed with roof muck washed down by rain onto the exposed mahogany.
It took three weeks working at weekends to catch up.
Then I had a shower of rust chippings from the steel boat next door on the just repaired and repainted deck.
When the weather got a bit warmer I was ready to enamel the topsides... but the warm air and the cold concrete in the shed brought a low dew point... every surface was covered in condensation.
Eventually I launched on Easter Saturday, seven weeks late.
There's something to be said for a summer refit leaving the winter for sailing.

Re: Can I have some more sunshine please?

Welcome to the joys of working in a shed.

I had just painted the transom when the guy behind decided that he would wash his decks down after sanding.

Re: Can I have some more sunshine please?

Hey, thanks for all the requests for sun, it worked!

Another coat on the topsides and the second antifouling done. Just have to do the boot top and a coat of gloss.

As for painting Victorious, I'd love to, but I know how much pride you'd take in doing the job yourself. Plus, I also know how big Victorious is!! we're only 300 yards downriver from her normal mooring, so we see her often.

Thanks Dave. Jolina looks pretty fabulous. We've got a lot more work to do before we're up to that standard. I'm hoping to be in by Friday.....

If the weather holds! More sunshine please! Again!
