Is it compatable with gps, ie nmea, and does it have the digital display on it?

Yes it is the current model.
It will take GPS and or Wind data in on NMEA.
Yes it does have a display which showes head / wind / Cross Track Error depending on mode.

How old is the unit? What condition is it in, how much work has it done?

AProx 3 years, has been used for local sailing in Poole and a couple of channel crossings.
It is in good condition I would say - can send you some photo's if you with.
