In the continuing quest for total redundancy I had both of my laptops running side by side. Samsung A10/Acer aspire 3000. I was transferring picture files and noticed that the screen on the Samsung made my pics look much better. Difficult to describe but on the Samsung they seemed to be "richer" and "deeper". Further investigation showed that the Acer screen was set to maximum brightness, sorted that and things looked better, but still not as good. Looked for other fiddle controls with no success, any hints or tips? Or is just cos the Acer screen ain't as good? Keep it simple. |

It could be the screen is inferior. It could be the graphics card is inferior. It could be the settings. etc In Display (in control panel) there may be some options to change gamma, contrast etc etc, but this is often tied into proprietory software for the graphics card. Poke around in Settings/advance to see what you have available. Often the computer will come with software for the video card where you can make adjustments. Pro's will use colour correction software (with an external device to take readings from the screen) to make sure what you see on screen is printed (on calibrated printers) in the same colour. Cheers BS,had a good delve around and found gamma and other bits and pieces have toned down the display so that they now match. |
