Central Solent

Many pot bobbers between Hamble entrance and Hill Head and as far offshore as the edge of main Soton Water shipping channel. Mostly of the difficult to see plastic milk container type. This route much frequented by small craft en-route to/from eastern Solent.

Also had to fend one off with a boat hook the other day, just east of Lepe Spit bouy. There were maybe another 6 - 10 in the area which we kept clear off. Again. milk container type. This on busy route between central and western Solent.

Re: Central Solent

Agree! Nearly ran over one just east of the Lepe Spit Cardinal when motorsailing at 7knots into a 4knot tide yesterday .. almost impossible to see due to the sea state
