When GMIV deservedly is returned to her rightful home afloat there will be a big hole in Greenwich that will need filling. Does anyone have any suggestions what could be put in it? nb no references to other wastes of space in Greenwich please! |

The last thing to go there is another boat! I appreciate the importance of that one, but what a waste, sitting there rotting at a huge cost. By all means let the punters see it and visit, but any boat should be in its own environment. Why not a statue? In addition to this gent there are a number of others (many his contemporaries) who have done much to inspire us, and they could point us across the road back to the maritime museum. This is a great and historic site, and not to be wasted a a mausoleum (whether for craft or dubious politicos!) |
