JennyWren Leaves the Solent

It looks to me that there is a small weather window on Thursday night.

So, weather gods permitting, we will probably do a night passage and move her from the Solent to Torquay arriving at the crack of dawn on Friday.

If succesfull, this will probably be the last time that she will be in the Solent. Once in the Med, I cant see her ever coming back - she's too big to cruise round these waters and she's all set up for a comfortable life in the Med.

Forumite FenderGirl has volunteered to come along as crew and if the sea state will drop a bit in line with the wind, we should have a comfortable run down. There seems to me to be a small ridge of high pressure for about 6 to 10 hours during Thursday night and into early Friday morning. If this little weather window doesnt actually appear, we may have to leave it until a later date.

BTW have you seen RogerRat's boat on page 128 of today's MBY?

Hi Mike

You must be very excited at the prospect of this first step towards the Med. Good luck with the trip down to Torquay tomorrow evening.

Cheers
Jimmy

Hi Jimmy

I've got a pile of things to go to the boat.
One of them is a big printed photo of your boat.
I understand that you are currently my neighbour so I'll leave it on your boat.

Mike

Hi Mike

Thanks for this. Depending on what time you're coming down tomorrow our paths may cross - I've got to whizz down to the boat to collect some gear that I'll need for the SoF next week. Not sure if we are still neighbours or not, I think they were going to move the P42 around so that they could have a look at the bow.

Cheers
Jimmy

Really looking forward to our trip, I am sure the weather will hold up as planned. I have packed the camera so there should be plenty of photos!!!

Just leaving Devon - weather looks good for tonight.

You might be able to track our progress on AIS - we should be outputting a Class B signal.

Adios Amigos'

Bit sad that 'Jenny Wrenn' will be gone for good, but I know what you mean about Solent use with a boat of her size.

So what's on p128 then? a highly illuminated, floating disco paddle steamer?

Yeah, saw it last night! It kind of ruins the picture, doesn't it!
