Looking at the broacher of my Swin Ranger Ketch the sail size is described as a number followed by a Delta or PHI symbol (a square with sigma passing through) Jib 68 Main 110 Mizzen 60 The mast is 23ft Boom 10ft 9ins Mizzen 15ft and mizzen boom 4ft 9ins, try as I may I can not make sense of these numbers. Can anyone help? Please Neil |

From the manufacturer's website: Quote: As for the symbol, wikipedia says: Quote: My browser isn't up to it, but it sounds like what you describe. |

Square feet looks good to me, taking a bit off the mast and boom lengths gives:- Main 20.5 X 10.5 divided by 2 = 107 and a bit Stan I must type faster |

What a clever lot you are, I had reasoned that the main sail was approz 123sq ft if is was a right angle triangle, ommitting the bit missing at the bottom!!!!! Oh to feel so dumb! Thanks everone Neil |
