Yamaha 2B 2 horse outboard - no fuel cap help ?

Just inherited this with no fuel cap. Any advice ?

Get a fuel cap.

Yes a new cap from a dealer or a scrapped engine is the answer. Its got to be petrol tight or it's dangerous and its got to be vented or it wont run.

Remove tank, go to lawn mower service place. I'm sure they'll have boxes of bits. One must fit.

The lawnmower ones will probably be too small.....and the breather "holes" are permanantly open.

Not on our old flymo. This has a screw closed breather identical to an outboard. But then I guess it's designed to be hung on its side on the wall.
In fact I think flymo engines used to be used on outboards. They'd have been very light too.
