heating and propulsion red diesel

Do I get this right? you will fill up your tank and estimate the percentage of the fuel which will be used for heating and the remainder you pay full tax on as it will be used for propulsion. What if you run your engines to heat the water for a shower or electric etc without the boat moving? my ebarspacher has a problem it uses 15 galls per hour but my engines run all week on a pint !!

Are we being the "nudge nudge wink wink" by HMRC to do this?

I dont believe that boat owners will get away with that. It will be very difficult to convince the French authorities if you have one tank. i would say 2 tanks may be an answer. It all depends as to how the law is enforced. After all do you all do your archery practice on sundays, or has that law been repealed, and isnt there another one about shooting scotsmen in york, I would like to invite the minority leader brown to York before he wastes any more of our money.
