My I suggest....

MPs don't seem to listern to our concerns about the RED Diesel problem.

Why don't we stop the traffic on the Thames with us all going / meeting at the Houses of parliment RIVER SIDE.

It would certainly get some media attention.

we could all travel in a long convoy up and down the thames at say "lack" water. This should be safe for all and with low tidal current to worry us.

Re: My I suggest....

Is "lack" water a term used in rivers during time of drought? If so, is its timing shown anywhere in an almanac or Thames Guide?

No need to apologise - I regularly do far worse - should have put a smiley after my query, I suppose, then you could have ignored it

Re: My I suggest....

So far the issue of marked Gas Oil for private use has been subject to lack of information, misinterpretation, and casting aspersions on the private sex lives of MPs and civil servants (which may or not be true...).

However, if the Government is to be made to take notice we need a mass protest on the scale of the Countryside Alliance - which seems to have stopped any action on "chasing wild animals with dogs".

This will require a lot of lobbying, huge support from boaters and mega organization.

Is there anyone out there willing to take on this task?

I can see this could be a long running campaign and see the need for other organizations to be involved:-

Coastal cruising clubs
The Environment Agency (who want more users to use their rivers - no boats = stinking and unattractive ditch.

British Waterways - similar to the above

Re: My I suggest....

Maybe we need a (virtual) steering committee for this 1, made up of media (IPC?) some people on this forum and perhaps some senior RYA people? I am only casting ideas about here so please feel free to make constructive comments about this.

I dont really agree with this, i think people are being very good about this because its such an important issue - and everyone is entitled to their opinions, and remember most of the people here are talking to MPs as well and the only way they take us seriously is by being literate and pointing out the problems and knock on effects of the price hike.

As for the bodies, i am trying to organise meetings with clubs up the severn and i am going to email BW 2day about the issues.

Also Thanks for Joining the forums and giving us your support. Please fill in all your profile.

Thanks
