Tender
I'm looking for a solid GRP or wooden tender. Probably 8 - 10', must be stable and ideally unsinkable though that's not a definite. I'm not concerned about cosmetics provided it's solid, doesn't take on water and can be powered by a small outboard (Mercury 2.5hp). A Dory type (Tabur Yak or similiar) would be the ideal but I'm really open to any ideas and a larger dinghy on a trailer might suit. Hopefully within 50 miles or so of Southampton/Bournemouth. Reasonable price paid.
Cheers, Brian.

Hi - be wary of the Tabur Yak dinghy, especially if it's old. I had one which was fine on the trip back and forth to my mooring but when I towed it during a summer cruise, on my way ashore at Queenboro it nearly capsized as the space between the inner and outer skins had gradually filled up with water. When we eventually got ashore it was impossible to drag it up the slip as it was so heavy. On inspection it had a long split along the underside of one hull, not noticeable amongst all the other scratches etc. However it was an excellent load carrying dinghy and I would have no hesitation in having another as long as it didn't leak! I did see one that had been filled with foam which would help any leak problem.
