Hip Hooray, It's Europe Day

I invite all forumites to join me in a virtual drink of French or Italian wine, or perhaps German or Czech beer, a slice of Polish spicy sausage and some Spanish snacky tapas things. After a couple of drinks we will have a rousing chorus of the 'Ode to Joy' and salute the ring of golden stars on our EU ensigns.

No doubt with a large tongue in the cheek, but then I suppose you may be hoping one day for a status similar to that of R O I.

Ode to Joy (EU Anthem) is great piece of music. EU is a great load of rubbish

Aye, and you will be dragged screaming and kicking into it, without a referendum.

I resigned myself to the inevitable a while back. If we had referendum there would have to be more than one untill they got the required result.
Yes I know its laughable, then that is what this government has become.

Re: Hip Hooray, It's Europe Day

The irony in all this is that after cursing and damning all domestic politicians for decades, and despite the inevitable and continuous relative decline of the UK, posters would prefer to keep UK independance. And yet whilst taking this line, we have the highest proportion of the population wanting to emigrate of any country in Europe, and indeed large numbers now living in France and Spain.

So why is it that the average Daily Mail reader blames everything on the EU and then delights in going to live in France if he can? Or is it all just wingeing?

Europe is where it's at - you lot are just so old fashioned. We ceased to be independent of anyone since 1945 at my reckoning so embrace the blue and gold as we'll be fully in when the pound and euro reach parity.

The EU are planning to strategically nuke the UK..

On reflection, probably a good thing..

if you are NOT a member of the EU... you are probably a solent sailor or moored in Swansea...

or, the east coast eeeek.. now that is the pits...

when you get out more, you will appreciate the freedom, and not the insular diatribe of most uk 'citizens'
