Hi David, Hippo is still sailing well with same old Perkins! She is at present in Denmark. Rudi has had a rotten stroke and I am hoping to keep her for a bit. My names Pat, and I am Rudi's wife. Would love a chat. How do I contact you. Pat

Hippocampus sat in Tighnabruaich boatyard for a couple of years before being sold to Arnold Clark (now has 'Drum').
We looked at her a couple of times then with the view to purchase. She was 'shabby' at best.
In the end Arnold Clark came along with a silly offer, which was accepted, sent a couple of his 'men' down to the boatyard with a couple of tins of Dulux white enamel and raced her successfully for a couple of years.
This would have been early eighties, if I remember correctly.

Great to hear some of the history on old Hippokampos, anyone know some more?? Brought her back to Uk from the West Indies in 1991. Do you still have to carry a bunker of fuel cans under the Helms seat?!!

This is my third post to you Ed because I am not sure if you are getting a reply. Do contact me. Hippokampos is now back in England. No, we do not carry diesel under the seat now! There is a life raft there instead! We lived on her for three years and had a fantastic time, just the two of us. Do get in touch - Pat
