I contribute to a number of other forums, and I can easily post an image as part of my signature in those. Is it blocked on here? When I preview the siggy I have an image, when I post it dissappears.
Or am I being thick?

Images in signatures are not allowed, so are blocked

decision Kim made a long time ago, which was as much about server resource as aesthetics I seem to recall, though can't remember the details

Have you seen forums which allow images in signatures? Some of the signatures take up over half a page and definitely detract from the forum. Mind you, they're easy enough to block these days....

personally think we're better off without them for exactly those sort of reasons. Even little ones break up the flow of reading threads, and some sigs are getting ridiculously long these days. Surely the avatar photo is more than enough to personalise your message?

I absolutely agree - there is no advantage and several disadvantages to images in signatures!

Another 'agree totally'. Likewise, please please, we don't want to go down the route of various colours/sizes/fonts for posts. (I know it was tried for a short time, but was thankfully quashed).

So you have found how to cheat the system as well.
