repeating postings

why do old postings reappear as new on all the sites?

New postings within the threads promote the threads up the ladder, so the most recent always bounce towards the top (provided organised by threads in your user options). Admit it takes a bit of getting used to but does mean still active threads don't get lost a long way down the queue.
