Trying to master posting photos
      #1644451 - 11/11/2007 14:43

Sorry to disturb residents on a Sunday afternoon, but have been trying to master the photo posting technique ever since someone asked me to post a photo of Saskia the other day, and I found myself quite unable to master the art - age and incompetence, or possibly red wine at that time of night. Anyway, I really think I may have got it now, thanks to the step by step tutorials of various senior members: let's see:

For just one or two pictures the simplest thing to do is to select " message board ( 640 x 480 ) " as the maximum size from options in the Photobucket uploading panel.

It's too slow though to use for more than one or two.

If you have a photo-editor of any kind you may be able to re-size using that. If so re-size to a width of 640 pixels. That gives a more satisfactory result with portrait orientated pictures than the PBucket resizing as they are made the full width (OK you have to scroll down to view the bottom half but that never seems so bad as scrolling sideways.)

The resizing can be done using Microsoft Office picture Manager. I'm still struggling a bit with using that as I keep reducing the original as well as producing a reduced version to upload to Pbucket. I think I have it licked now though.

Nice pic BTW but how do you hoist the sails? no mast!

VicS

Thanks for the advice - I've found that options button and will give it a try.

Yes, you're right about the sails - it is a problem..........though not so much on the canals.
