For those who may be thinking of joining us, my proposed Itinery(based on fast motor boat speeds but adaptable for sail) is: 1- Good Friday pm Depart Cardiff for Watchet for about 4pm arrival (gate opens (16:11) 2- Fri and Sat night in Watchet 3- Sunday leave pm (Gate opens 15:10) to arrive Portishead about 7pm 4- Monday early departure from Portishead for 9am lock into Bristol on the level 5- Weds 9am departure from Bristol.
This gives an eastbound flow on the trip up from Watchet so best chance of a smooth ride and trip back from Bristol will be on the start of the ebb but there is plenty of time to take it easy and you can get some lee from Penarth headland if you take an almost due west course
