4 Winds of Adventure.

By Marcel Bardiaux. This book is very difficult to find these days, but I remember it from many years ago as a fine read. A precis of the man may be found here - http://www.mcallen.lib.tx.us/books/circumna/ci_24.htm
I particularly remember his problems rounding Cape Horn in 'Les 4 Vents' and his method of beaching his yacht in a cove on the island. I doubt if that has been done before or since.
